How long does it take to draw a caricature?
A black and white face only takes us 3-5 minutes! If you're booking us for an event, this means we can get draw around 15 to 20 drawings per hour. Please consider that add-ons such as color or themed bodies will take us longer - around 10 to 15 minutes per drawing.
What size is the paper that my caricature will be drawn on?
Once we've ripped the final drawing off our easels, the page is approximately 11'' by 16''.
My kid wants to be drawn as his favorite video game character, can you do that?
Our themed drawings are a great way to take your caricature drawing to the next level - and themes can be anything you can imagine! Our artists are able to use their phones to look up pictures for reference, so go crazy with your requests! We love getting creative with unique theme ideas.
How much do you charge?
Our base rate is $150 CAD per artist, per hour. If you book multiple artists, we offer a 15% discount on your entire event!
What areas do you serve?
We’re Toronto based, but we draw at events all over the GTA! Check out our map to see if your event is within our service areas!
How can I pay?
We accept E-transfer, credit / debit cards, cheques, or cash. Payments are not due until after the event.
When do I pay?
Payments are due after the completion of the event. When you confirm your booking with us, we’ll provide you with an invoice. Once the event is paid for, we can also offer additional receipts upon request.
When will my artist arrive at my event?
Your artist will arrive 15 minutes before the time they’ve been booked for. They’ll set up their easel and materials to ensure that they’re ready to start drawing guests as soon as the event starts!
What do I need to do for my caricature artist?
Shower them with endless praise for their awesome artwork. Just kidding - all you need to do for your artist(s) is provide them with two chairs each - one for them, and one for the guests that they’ll draw!
What else should I know about my artist?
Toon Goons artists always come dressed in formal attire, unless otherwise specified. Let us know if you’d like us to come in something more casual and we’ll happily do so.
Do you custom print paper for events? We want our branding on the caricatures!
We do offer custom printing! Send us the logo or phrase you want printed, as well as how many papers you’ll need, and we'll send you a quote!
Our prices range from $19 CAD to $49 CAD per person. Add-ons like themed bodies, color, and additional faces/bodies are all available as well!
My friend couldn’t make it today! Can you draw from photos?
Yes, we’re happy to draw from photos! Whether it’s Uncle Bob or Sparky the dog, we want to make sure ALL your loved ones can be in the caricature!
How many people can you draw in one picture?
We’re great at fitting lots of faces on our standard 11’’x17’’ paper - we’ve done up to 11 faces on one page! If you’re hosting an event and want all your guests drawn on one giant page, check out our 'BIG TOON' event service here.
How exaggerated/ mean are your caricatures?
We love crazy caricatures but we’re also very good at reading the room. Sometimes people prefer something more portrait-like rather than exaggerated, and our artists are happy to accommodate. Let us know what you’d like and we’ll see what we can do!
How can I bring my art home with me?
We offer a variety of different traveling options at checkout - from cardboard carrying tubes to plastic sleeves to keep your art safe from the rain! Prices vary.
Where are the Toon Goons Art retail locations in Toronto?
We don't currently have any retail locations in the Greater Toronto Area. But we can't wait to have a retail location in the future! Please check back soon.
Something has come up and I need to cancel my event booking. What should I do?
We get it, life happens! Shoot us an email ASAP at toongoonsart@gmail.com to tell us that your plans have changed. While we don’t have any cancellation fees, we’d appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible so we can move on to other prospects.
I just got a retail caricature drawn and sold to me and I want a refund because they made my nose too big!
If you don’t like the drawing you purchased at a festival or Toon Goons retail location, feel free to return it to us for a re-draw or a full refund. Caricature art is a lot of fun, but it’s all about exaggeration. Don’t worry- you don’t look anywhere near as crazy as your caricatured self! That being said, we get it if the drawing wasn’t what you were expecting/ looking for - We apologize for any hurt feelings. Shoot us an email and we'll help work everything out.
